Outdoor Industry Association, the leading trade association for the outdoor industry, is looking for a driven, strategic, and organized Content Marketing Manager to develop and execute digital marketing tactics to drive awareness, affinity, engagement, and conversion of OIA membership, programs and services.


About OIA Based in Boulder, Colorado, with an office in Washington, D.C., Outdoor Industry Association, a 501(c)6, nonprofit trade association, is the leading trade association for the outdoor industry. OIA unites and serves manufacturer, supplier, sales representative, and retailer members through its focus on trade and recreation policy, sustainable business innovation, research, advocacy, and outdoor participation. OIA also established and sponsors the Outdoor Foundation, a 501(c)3, nonprofit, with a mission centered on engaging American youth in active, outdoor lifestyles and nature-based education and activities.


About the Position The Content Marketing Manager position is responsible for planning, managing, and executing OIA’s digital marketing omni-channel campaigns. They will implement all components of a content marketing strategy and coordinate tactics that align with the long-term OIA strategic plan and existing marketing strategy, through digital, social, and traditional channels. This position is an exempt position reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications. The individual will work to develop content that drives awareness, affinity, engagement, and conversion with OIA members and partners.


Essential Functions/Responsibilities of the Job


Content Marketing ● Design, implement content strategies for email, social media posts, blogs, white papers, website landing pages and other media


● Support the Director of Marketing and Communications in the execution of the OIA product, brand and strategic campaigns through evergreen content marketing tactics and strategic initiatives


● Schedule content marketing tactics, produce high quality content that supports OIA's strategic membership growth plan and overall value prop


● Develop strong CTA marketing copy and edit for a wide range of tactics and channels


including B2C and B2B marketing collateral and assets


● Manage and liaise with vendors handling creative and marketing services, including


social media, email, photography, videography, and graphic design


● Manage OIA digital channels including website and membership portal to ensure


maximum member engagement


● Establish and set conversion short-term goals as it relates to digital channels


● Track and measure OIA marketing KPIs and prepare for org-wide reporting


Marketing Operations


● Develop process and plan for implementing and sharing content marketing editorial


calendar for cross-team internal and external collaborators


● Manage and triage marketing request forms, SLAs and distribute tasks as needed to


web, social and design leads to drive timely completion of projects


● Evaluate and optimize content marketing operations, tools and platforms for better


marketing and team outcomes


Collaboration


● Build strong partnerships with product and service teams at OIA external vendors and


partners


● Meet with content team members to track progress and gauge work capacity


● Check editorial calendar to make sure teams are on track to meet goals on time,


tweaking workflows and content edits as needed


● Collaborate with members in marketing, product, sales and other departments to


maintain consistent style and branding guidelines


● Incorporate OIA membership feedback and generate new ideas to increase member


engagement

Required Experience and Education


● Experience developing and implementing content strategies based on specific goals


and objectives


● Experience in producing content for the web specifically, as well as channel-specific


knowledge (social media, web, blog, etc)


● Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience


● Three years’ experience in Marketing, Communication, and/or Member


Communications programs


● Familiarity with native marketing analytics software and Google Analytics


● Experience managing creative vendor and agency relationships


● Experience with content management systems, including WordPress


● Proficiency with Asana, Microsoft 365, Adobe Creative Cloud, or other like design


software a plus


Preferred Education and Experience


● Previous outdoor industry or related industry experience


● Previous experience working in a membership organization environment
